Coastal Geologic Services Inc. is a small business providing cost-effective consulting to government, commercial, and residential coastal landowners, managers, and planners. CGS specializes in applied physical analyses in coastal and estuarine environments in the Northern Straits and Puget Sound, including coastal processes, geologic and environmental assessment, coastal restoration/rehabilitation, and beach monitoring.

CONSULTING SERVICES OFFERED:

Beach Nourishment/Restoration - Beach processes assessed and beach nourishment designs developed for construction of protective berms, beach nourishment, or habitat mitigation projects.

Coastal Processes Assessment - Assessment of coastal processes including drift cell assessments, shoreline change analysis, and recommendations for coastal management of modified shoreline reaches such as at marinas or harbors. Also includes assessment of coastal and estuarine areas with respect to proposed development or management issues.

Coastal Erosion Control - Specific recommendations to minimize damage due to coastal erosion in environmentally acceptable and inexpensive ways such as soft shore protection, improved drainage control and land use, vegetative erosion control, and when necessary, through structural means.

Beach/ Coastal Monitoring - Monitoring services include quantitative surveying of beaches, shoreline dynamics, sediment transport, project performance, and habitat distribution, using high-quality precision survey equipment.

Educational Seminars - Create, organize and present talks, workshops, and field seminars on coastal processes, management of coastal properties, beaches, Pacific Northwest geology, and glaciation, including discussion of case studies and current issues.
